New year wishes to you! Hope the new year showers its choicest blessings on you.

How has the start been? I am off to a blessed start this year. A client came knocking on my email inbox in the last week of December, through Linkedin. And things have worked out and I have started working for them editing email copy since the first Monday this January. I like it 🤞.

I wanted to earn more from Medium, but up until now I have barely grazed past $50/month. But nevertheless, it has helped me stretch my writing muscles and helped me build a decent portfolio and find my writing sweet spots — parenting, marketing, and business, in that order.

I've had a few business owners reaching out on Linkedin offering about $40-$50/1000 word articles, which is though not great but still gives me hope to completely turn to write for a living sometime soon.

As some of you might be aware, I recently moved to India and since Stripe is not available yet in India, I opted out of the Medium Partner Program. So I can no longer earn monetarily from Medium.

But I will continue to write on Medium. Substack is one temptation but I don't know if I should give in. Vocal is not my type of platform. You have the least control over your article on Vocal unless you're a paying member.

This year, I am shifting gears to full time writing for clients. Last year, I have spent enough time writing for myself with an occasional freelance gig now and then.

I hope to be active on Medium when I can. And good luck to you in your career and life.
